Why Filipinos need to study the life, works and writings of Jose Rizal?

It is vital to study Jose Rizal because he is our national hero, and primarily we need to know his ideas and his thoughts about the friars and the Spaniards. We also need to understand the basis why he hates the friars so much and why his ideas are so determined and ambitious to destroy the Spaniards here in the Philippines.

His writings are powerful. This is the underlying foundation why Andres Bonifacio and his mates took up arms against the Spaniards. Angry and courageous Filipinos powered by the writings of Jose Rizal is the reason for such conflict between the Filipinos and their conquistadors. Jose Rizal is a poet, a doctor, a sociologist and a traveler. Although he studied in Spain, mother country of the enemy, perhaps still he can’t abandon his crying country. This is the main thought why he started writing about the Spaniards here in the Philippines. We need to study him, moreover, we need to understand and put our feet in his shoes just to truly know the cause of such uprising.

He wrote Noli Me Tangere, a famous book from him. The book targets the arrogance and aggression of both friars and its soldiers. We need to know what are his thoughts about the book from studying and understanding his life. He is fearless, such ideology may cause harm not just to him, but also to his relatives and family even so he still writes about the friars from his perspective, perspective that the Spaniards are so vicious. His courageousness, determination and perseverance trough his writing affects the morale of the Filipinos to fight the Spaniards, if not for him, we may still be a colony of Spain.
